Best Rides at Magic Kingdom for Small Children

There is no question that Walt Disney World is a magical place for young and old.

Taking small children with you to the parks is a delight – and can be a challenge.

To help you streamline and guide your day in the park, here is a guide, by Land, of places you can’t miss if you are exploring the Magic Kingdom with small children.

Fantasyland Rides

Possibly the best spot in the Magic Kingdom for kids, this section of the park is specifically geared toward younger children.

Here you will find rides appropriate for small tykes like Winnie the Pooh ride, Peter Pan’s Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and The Mad Tea Party.

A Few of these rides offer a Fast Pass option, so get your ride time then head to a less popular ride, or quicker moving line.

Adventurland Rides

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

This high-flying ride puts the controls in the kids’ hands – literally.

A joystick in each “carpet” allows the riders to control the height of their ride – and they won’t be able to stop giggling at the water-spitting camel.

The Swiss Family Treehouse is a great place to blow off some steam as you and your kids clamber up a path through a staged tree house.

Adventurland Rides

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

Based on characters from the familiar Toy Story movies, this ride provides you with a laser gun to help Buzz battle Zurg.

As you move slowly through dark rooms, you are presented with targets to shoot, and scored through the ride.

The Magic Kingdom is full of fun surprises throughout the day featuring familiar casts of characters such as the
“Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade”, and “Dream Along with Mickey” staged in front of the castle.

Some of the family oriented rides may be too scary for young kids, as they are dark or are based upon scary themes, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Lilo and Stitch, and The Haunted Mansion.

Check your child’s height before hitting the parks.

A Few of the coasters have a height requirement, and you don’t want your child to learn they can’t ride at the height of excitement when getting into a line.
