Disney World Kid Friendly Attractions

Updated: 05 Jun 2013 05:37:31 AM

Walt Disney World, comprised of the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, is a playground for everyone, young and old.

Anyone can find the magic at Walt Disney World, and the Imagineers who dreamt up the parks are careful to cater to all ages.

Strollers are available at all four of the parks, and may be a lifesaver at Animal Kingdom and Epcot, as those parks cover the most area.

Younger children will delight in the abundance of characters they are able to meet in each park, either at greeting spots or character dinners in the parks.

Magic Kingdom

At the Magic Kingdom, at Cinderella’s Castle you can dine with princesses, and at the Crystal Palace characters from Winnie the Pooh visit your table and parade around the restaurant.

In the Magic Kingdom’s new expanded Fantasyland, the Casey Jr Splash and Soak Station is an interactive (with water!) play yard.

At Epcot in Norway is another place to dine with royalty, the princesses, and at the Garden Grill you can enjoy your fare with Chip and Dale.

In Epcot, there is no specific playground, but many of the countries have open areas, gardens, or hikes where kids can stretch their legs.

However, Epcot strives to keep young ones entertained with the Kidcot stations found in the World Showcase which gives kids a chance to do a small activity, collect a stamp, and talk with a cast member from the country represented.

Hollywood Studios

In Hollywood Studios at Hollywood and Vine you will find many different characters from Disney Junior, and at Animal Kingdom you can dine with Donald and pals.

All of these restaurants are child-friendly and serve favorite kid fare.

One of the best themed play spots can be found at Hollywood Studios, with the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Set.

Huge blades of grass, tunnels, and larger than life insects make the kids feel like they have had a turn in front of the famous shrinking laser!

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom’s Boneyard boasts impressive slides and a sand pit to dig for dinosaur bones.

As you can see, Walt Disney World takes pains to cater to every age visiting the parks.

All of the parks in Disney World also house at least a small play area for young kids to blow off some steam.

Some parks, like the Magic Kingdom, have whole areas devoted to young children, but even at the parks with more thrill rides there is plenty for the young, and young at heart.
