Updated: 12 April 2013 03:40:01 AM

SeaWorld is illuminated with a sea of pink feathers each day as the Flamingo Parade makes its way around the park.

View Chilean and Caribbean Flamingos Uplclose

While flamingo lakes and exhibits are not unusual at zoos or wildlife parks, SeaWorld’s Flamingo Parade experience allows you and your family to observe dozens of beautiful Chilean and Caribbean flamingos up close.

Accompanied by some of the parkís trainers, these gregarious birds will happily share sidewalk space with SeaWorld guests.

Chilean and Caribbean flamingos are among the largest types of flamingos and reach up to 57 inches tall.

For children, the parade is a special treat as they are often able to stand eye to eye with these brightly colored birds.

Smaller kids can even find themselves looking up at them.

Take care to prevent younger children from chasing or charging at the birds.

The flamingos are accustomed to being around people and are perfectly content to walk alongside spectators during the parade.

SeaWorld Flamingos are Trained

Each flamingo undergoes a special training program to acclimate them to walking outside their habitat.

Once they are trained to walk comfortably alone, they then graduate to walking among other people.

By the time they join the parade, they have learned to be completely comfortable with human presence and other stimuli at the park.

You and your family are free to walk beside them at this time, but donít be surprised if you get a light peck as these birds are naturally curious!
