Is Star Wars Land Coming to Hollywood Studios?

Updated: 17 Aug 2013 04:52:24 AM

For fans at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA hoping for some concrete information regarding Star Wars Land at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, they will just have to wait a little longer.

Since Disney bought Lucasfilm and announced plans for making three new Star Wars movies, fans have been clamoring for any new news about anything Star Wars.

Rumor has it that Disney will be bringing some guests, rides, merchandise and food from a galaxy far, far away right to Hollywood Studios in Orlando.

Initial plans may be placing the new Star Wars land adjacent to the current Star Tours attraction, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Muppet Vision 3D or Backlot Express and Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular would be removed to make way for the new attractions.

Height Requirements

Reports change every day, but as of now it is thought that two of the new attractions would be a ride aimed at younger guests who don’t make the height requirement on Star Tours and an indoor Jedi Training Academy.

While some die-hard Hollywood Studios fans may bemoan the loss of classic Hollywood Studio attractions, it is easy to see why Disney would want to capitalize on the purchase of Star Wars.

New Trilogy

The beloved films just keep gaining fans year after year, and with director J.J. Abrams at the helm of the first of the new trilogy to be released, the film is almost guaranteed to please fans of the older movies.

The expanded section of Hollywood Studios would also be joined by Cars Land, also appealing to younger visitors.

Guest can probably expect more merchandise, but hopefully Disney won’t get rid of the option to personalize your own light saber at Tatooine Traders!

Whatever the final plans are, they are sure to be filled with Disney’s magic and be an unforgettable experience.
