Tips For Safe Travel on Your Orlando Vacation

Updated: 16 April 2013 02:51:20 PM

Orlando is generally a safe destination for tourists, but like all places, it is not without its hazards.

However, with the help of a few safety tips you can help ensure that your Orlando vacation goes off without a hitch.

The first tip is pure common sense.

Make it a point to always lock the doors to your hotel or vacation rental and vehicle.

In a vast majority of cases, simply locking your doors will be enough to deter would-be thieves.

On the topic of vehicles, park under the streetlights at night and keep all valuables out of view of the car windows.

Personal Safety

When you’re on vacation, the personal safety of you and your family takes top priority.

If you’re planning on visiting Orlando’s top theme parks with smaller children, dress them in bright clothing so you can spot them easily if you get separated from them.

It’s also a good idea to make sure your valuables are secured at all times.

Don’t leave purses or wallets lying around at any theme parks or restaurants and ensure that all backpacks and handbags remain zipped when not in use.

Furthermore, try not to carry large amounts of cash on you.

Orlando is a driver-friendly destination, but international drivers in particular should bear in mind the regional driving rules and seatbelt laws that are enforced in order to prevent accident or injury.

All passengers under 18 must be buckled at all times and children 5 and under must be secured in an approved child seat.
